As-salâmu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullâhi wa barakâtuhu,
In line with the latest Governmental guidance, the Masjid will be re-opening for congregational Salat from 4 July 2020 insha’Allah. This is subject to final approval from the government and public health authorities. When the Masjid does re-open, it will be in a phased approach, and due to the current two metre social distancing guidance, only a fraction of the congregation will be accommodated in the Masjid particularly for the Jummu’ah prayers.
SAFETY MEASURES WE ARE TAKING
Cheadle Masjid are taking a number of steps to try and manage the safety of the congregation. These measures include a strict one-way system through the building, closure of Wudhu facilities (except in an emergency), regular deep cleans, provision of hand sanitisers and many more.
WHO CAN COME
Due to a combination of the restrictions on space and to protect the vulnerable, for the month of July we will be restricting access to those aged 11 to 70 years of age and with no underlying health conditions (e.g. Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, kidney/liver disease, weakened immune system). This guidance will continue to be updated in line with governmental guidelines insha’Allah.
Unfortunately the ladies section is currently being prepared for demolition ahead of the commencement for the redevelopment, so is currently out of bounds. We are seeking to restore the provision of a ladies facility as soon as possible.
WHAT TO DO
For the daily Salat, you can attend as normal, but everyone must adhere to the rules in place at the Masjid:
- Do your Wudhu at home, as the Masjid’s facilities will be closed;
- Wear a face mask at all times;
- Ensure you are dressed appropriately (including wearing socks at all times and preferably gloves);
- Bring your own shoe bag;
- Bring your own prayer mat;
- Use the hand sanitisers to disinfect your hands on entry and exit;
- Follow the one-way system in place;
- Maintain your social distance with all;
- Exit the Masjid following completion of the Fard Salat and read your Sunnah prayers at home.
For Jummu’ah Salat we will be operating a registration system with the intention to allow the congregation to come to one Jummu’ah Salat every other week. There will be four Jamaats (13:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 16:30) during the Summer, although in the first week it will be limited to two (to allow us to test the processes and procedures we have put in place). We will seek to accommodate people’s preference for their preferred time, however, this cannot be guaranteed.
Please use the following link to register to attend https://www.cheadlemosque.org/jumah-registration-form. If you cannot access the online form, please text the following details to 07846931808:
- First name
- Mobile telephone
- House number
- Sex: Male / Female
- Working: Yes / No
- Preferred Salat attendance time (13:30 / 14:30 / 15:30 / 16:30)
- Underlying health conditions (Yes / No)
- Anyone at home shielding (Yes / No)
You will be sent a text message confirming if you can attend. Please do not attend if you do not receive a text confirmation, as the Masjid capacity is restricted and refusal of entry can cause offence.
We kindly ask for your patience, while we are all keen to return to normality, but this cannot be at the risk of the communities health. May Allah SWT protect us all from this disease (Aameen).
