Worshippers at Cheadle Mosque in Heald Green have raised £1000 for the Starlight Children’s Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital. They arranged a variety of activities including “Bumper Boats” and “Go Karts” as well as an open kitchen selling cuisine from around the world.
Badr Akhtar from Cheadle Mosque, commented “We wanted to do something to show our appreciation of the great work that the NHS does – it is an excellent institution and we must always be ready to support it in some way. We were delighted to meet the staff on the Starlight Unit and pass on this token of appreciation. We know that this donation will go to good use on the ward”
The donation was received by Sister Gillian Heer and her team on the ward, with Cheadle Mosque members : Badr Akhtar, Rifat Mirza and Amina Kasim.
