Conquering Mount Snowdon!
An intrepid group from Cheadle Mosque tackled the ascent of Snowdon last Saturday as part of a sponsored climb to raise funds for Cheadle Mosque’s redevelopment.
Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales; at an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level it’s the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands.
The group of 29 walkers (aged 14 to 60!) ascended the peak within 4 hours with all limbs intact!
In doing so they have raised £16,445.45 for the Masjid redevelopment Maasha’Allah.
May Allah (swt) accept every step they took, as a step to please Him and be counted heavy for them on the Day of Judgement.
Equally as important are those great people that were the sponsors – they indeed are heroes who gave of their wealth to further the Muslim community’s vision – we say Jazaka’Allah Khairan to them.
It’s also worthy of note that they managed to do the whole climb without the usual Biryani and Samosa; I’m sure we have all done the family picnic thing before where our picnic bags are normally larger that the typical luggage to Australia. This makes the achievement even more significant 🤣
