Cheadle Mosque

Every year Cheadle Masjid selects a #Zakat project, a project that we as the congregation of the Masjid can invest in Insha'Allah. This year we have teamed up with the excellent Muslim Aid a charity that has been established for more than 20 years. We have a lot of confidence in the charity and its leadership team - interestingly it was initially set up in response to the famine in Ethopia at that time being led by Yusuf Islam (the former Cat Stevens).

The Zakat project we have selected this year is to provide clean drinking water to the people of #Gaza. Reports show that less than 50% of households in Gaza have access to clean drinking water. Water which is that basic nourishment that is needed for life.

Our aim is for ourselves as a congregation to fund 10 water filtration units that can be fitted within schools and health centers in Gaza - #Palestine, to provide clean drinking water to some of the world's most needy people.

Each unit costs £13,500 and can provide 5000 litres/day. If we as a community can combine together the Zakat that we owe - the obligation that Allah (swt) has put upon us to help the needy - then we as community can let our brothers and sisters in Gaza know that we have not forgotten them, know that we are with them and know that we will continue to care for them even when it seems much of the world has forgotten their plight.

"...and establish prayer and give Zakah and loan Allah, a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (Qur'an 73:20)

Please if possible, do donate your Zakat towards this project or feel free to give whatever you can towards this noble cause. Donations for this project can be given to the Masjid but kindly mark them as Zakat whether that's as a bank transfer or on the reverse of a cheque.

May Allah (swt) reward you immensely for your support.

Jazaka'Allah Khairan

Invest in our children’s future!

ramadhangiving.com/cheadlemosque

We recently asked children who attend Cheadle Masjids Quran class, why they love Their Mosque. Alhamdullilah we received so many positive responses which just goes to show the effort and care we provide here at Cheadle Masjid.

We want to do even more with our next generation and be able to facilitate it. Currently we are looking to expand our masjid in our redevelopment project. Alhamdullilah we have raised £1.6 million so far however need to get to £2.5 million to be able to start our build. This Ramadan please help us get even closer to our target and allow us to continue educating and facilitating our next generation. Please share our campaign so we can raise as many funds as we can! May Allah reward all your efforts.

“Those who spend their wealth (in Allah’s cause) by night and by day, in secret and in public, they shall have their reward with the Lord. On them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.” [Al Qur’an 2:274]

Had a great evening at Cheadle Mosque once again for Taste Ramadan (including a visit from Andy Burnham).

Here I am with Gatley’s own - and new Heatons North councillor - Cllr Dena Ryness.

It’s always worth getting to Cheadle Mosque: so welcoming and you always come away learning more about Islam.

A valuable community resource for everyone within the Cheadle constituency, regardless of your faith or background.

#EidUnwrapped is back! For a third successive year, we’re helping some of the North West’s most unwell children. And as usual – we need your help!

The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) is the largest single-site hospital in the UK, for children and young people in the North West. Every year the hospital looks after 220,000 patients, with some of the most complex conditions that require specialist medical care. The work of the hospital has been vital for the thousands of patients, and more prevalent since the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017, where many of the young victims are still being treated.

One of Europe’s largest and busiest children’s hospitals, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital cares for over 270,000 patients annually. In 2015 the hospital opened a new state of the art hospital and research centre in order to bring together excellent care, innovation and education. With satellite sites around the United Kingdom, it is able to offer its specialist services to across the country.

In its inaugural year, Eid Unwrapped delivered 100 presents to the children of RMCH. Last year we grew on this and delivered in excess of 500 presents. This could not have been possible however, without the enormous support of the community.

As Eid Unwrapped grows, in 2019 we hope to deliver over 1000 presents to both RMCH and Alder Hey.

The Eid Unwrapped team is working tirelessly to make this ambition a reality, but we need your support.

You can support Eid Unwrapped by purchasing a gift to donate from the list below: -
· Cuddly toys (for young children)
· Reading books
· Science sets
· Lego and model sets
· Arts and crafts sets
· Model cars and planes
· Action figure or dolls
· Puzzles or jigsaws
· Toiletry sets (for teenagers)

Per the advice of hospitals, please ensure all gifts are new, as second-hand gifts cannot be given to children due to hygiene and infection control. Please ensure that presents are not wrapped but rather placed in gift bags. Please drop off presents to Cheadle Mosque on Saturday 1st June.

Thank you, as always, for your support and charitable efforts
